Conformity assessment verifies that a
product meets a specific level of quality or safety as specified by the
product safety standard(s) and can also provide specific information
about its characteristics, the consistence of those characteristics,
and/or performance of the product.
The two biggest culprits that lead to testing errors are mistakes by
laboratory workers and equipment that is not maintained. Flawed test
data can result in defective products that can ultimately cause injury
to the persons or to the environment. For this reason, it is essential
to examine the qualifications, the type and level of equipment, and the
testing methodology and the management oversight of a potential
laboratory service provider. |
